Timeless Quote ~ Character

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved.

I totally buy that quote.

And we are not talking about a little suffering either.

With me the suffering felt like it was going to kill me, but I believe I have came out the other side a new man.

A man that knows what it feels like to feel and experience the worst life has to dish out.

But the way I look at it, knowing real pain makes a person compassionate towards others that are going through life in less than ideal circumstances.

Having dealt with the bad and put it behind us makes the good all that much more enjoyable.

Ms. Keller was a wise woman in so many ways. That quote speaks volumes, not only to the trials of her own life, but the lives of us all. I have personally learned more from failure, from heartache, for adversity than I ever have from success. I guess character is the reward at the end of the hardship. Character, along with wisdom.

One.

I totally agree, One. I don't think you can build character without some amount of struggle. And, wisdom doesn't exist without character.
